Why Sponsor

Talent is everywhere. Opportunity isn’t.

Across India, thousands of young people have the curiosity, creativity and determination to become tomorrow’s engineers, scientists, entrepreneurs and technology leaders.

FIRST® creates a pathway for students to turn that curiosity into hands-on experience — designing robots, solving real-world problems, working with mentors and learning to lead as a team.

Sponsorship helps make that opportunity accessible to more students, schools and communities across India.

Don’t just support a competition. Help create the innovators who will shape India’s future.

Your sponsorship can translate directly into students reached, teams supported, events enabled and STEM experiences created.

Stories of Impact

Sometimes, the most powerful thing a robot can build is a belief.

FIRST is about much more than what happens on the competition field. Across India, students are discovering that engineering, technology and innovation can belong to them too.

They couldn’t see the robot. So they found another way to build it.

In Pune, a group of visually impaired students did something extraordinary: they built and competed with a robot at the FIRST Tech Challenge India National Championship.

The journey began when students from Bishop’s School Robotics Club visited Niwant Blind School. The students had never interacted with a robot before. That first encounter sparked an idea: why couldn’t they build one themselves?

Nine students joined the new team. Their mentors adapted the way robotics was taught — using touch-based teaching aids, 3D-printed tools and technology that helped students identify robot components independently.

7 of 9team members went on to continue their studies in STEM, including three pursuing Computer Science degrees.
“Now that I have built a robot with my own hands, how hard can it be to build racing cars?”— Sabir, BSRC Niwant

The team finished eighth at the championship and received the Pathbreaking Journey Judge’s Award.

Neurodiversity in FIRST

What if we stopped asking students to fit the system?

Mumbai’s Team Sigma is building a different kind of robotics culture — one where students are given opportunities based on their strengths, interests and abilities.

Team Sigma’s 2026 FIRST Impact Award submission describes a culture that actively embraces neurodivergence. Arav, identified by the team as autistic, serves as Media Lead and Vice-Captain.

The team’s inclusion work extends beyond its own members. Sigma reports mentoring autistic, hearing-impaired and underserved students through robotics initiatives, while also mentoring FTC teams across India.

This is the kind of ecosystem sponsorship can help strengthen: one where students don’t have to become someone else to belong.

Every student deserves to find a place in STEM.

Sponsorship can help create the equipment, mentorship, accessibility tools, training and competition opportunities that make that belief real — across schools and communities throughout India.

Your Sponsorship

Your support becomes a real experience for a student.

Sponsorship isn’t just a logo on a backdrop. It can translate into equipment, mentorship, access, competition experiences and opportunities that stay with students long after the event.

01

Put Robots in Students’ Hands

Help schools and teams access the robotics platforms, equipment and resources they need to participate.

02

Enable Mentorship

Connect students with engineers, technologists and professionals who can help them discover what is possible.

03

Create Competition Experiences

Help bring regional events and championships to life — giving students a stage to showcase their work.

04

Expand Access

Support participation from schools and communities that may otherwise struggle to access advanced STEM experiences.

05

Build Future Skills

Help students develop engineering, coding, communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills.

06

Engage Your Employees

Give engineers and professionals meaningful opportunities to mentor, judge, volunteer and engage with young innovators.
