About FIRST LEGO League
FIRST® LEGO® League introduces STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) to children ages 4-16 (varies by region) through fun, exciting hands-on learning. Participants gain real-world problem-solving experiences through a guided, global robotics program using LEGO® technology, helping today’s students, families, and educators build a better future together.
FIRST LEGO League’s three divisions inspire youth to experiment and grow their critical thinking, coding, and design skills and showcase what they learned.
Explore FIRST® LEGO® League Programs
FIRST® LEGO® League inspires young people to explore STEM through hands-on robotics and real-world problem solving. Designed for schools, afterschool programs, and community groups, students work in teams to design, build, code, and innovate around an annual themed challenge, developing skills in collaboration, critical thinking, communication, and creativity.
FIRST LEGO League Future Edition creates an evolved experience leveraging LEGO® Education Computer Science & AI kits, which consist of teacher support materials, bricks, hardware and code, designed for bringing computer science into the daily lives of students.
Friendly competition is at the heart of Challenge, as teams of students ages 9-16 engage in research, problem-solving, coding, and engineering – building and programming a LEGO robot that navigates the missions of a robot game.
In Explore, teams of students ages 6-10 focus on the fundamentals of engineering as they explore real-world problems, learn to design, and code, and create unique solutions made with LEGO bricks and powered by LEGO® Education SPIKE Essential.

2026-2027 Season: BIOGLOW
FIRST® LEGO® League (ages 5-16, varies by country / grades K-8) introduces STEM to children through fun, hands-on challenges using LEGO® Education technology. Participants gain real-world problem-solving experiences through a guided, global robotics program.
Releasing on August 4, 2026, experience the vibrancy of the world’s ecosystems in the BIOGLOW™ Challenge. The final season of FIRST LEGO League will offer two editions (event availability, format, and timing will vary by region):
- BIOGLOW Future Edition for FIRST® LEGO® League K-2 and 3-8, based on LEGO® Education Computer Science & AI hardware.
- BIOGLOW Founders Edition for FIRST® LEGO® League Explore (Grades 2-4) and Challenge (Grades 4-8), based on LEGO® Education SPIKE™ technology.
